A peace treaty is needed, but what can it provide?

The most a treaty can do is to provide a short-term guarantee of Armenia’s territorial integrity. But only on one condition: if the treaty has a third signatory party or, if you will, a guarantor. The only state that can currently be such a guarantor is the United States of America. Without this component, the treaty will not ensure even short-term “peace”.

Our priority should be achieving this third signature and, accordingly, the presence of a guarantee.
