Armenia’s Homework in Energy Security

Hereby, the scenario depicted highlights the immense scale of Armenia’s reliance on Russia within the energy sector. This situation is understandably concerning, given the pressing need to diversify foreign policy and diminish Russia’s influence in Armenia. The existence of this scenario, when considered alongside the current geopolitical dynamics, regional context, and state of interstate relations, significantly raises the likelihood of Russia deploying hybrid tactics against Armenia by exploiting its energy dependency…

… Ensuring energy security, in conjunction with various other dimensions of national security, is precisely the task that Armenia’s professional community has been emphasizing for quite some time.  Amid the growing tensions in Armenian-Russian relations, fulfilling this essential task is emerging as the foremost responsibility of the Armenian government.
