Our region is generally perceived in Washington as an auxiliary factor. An auxiliary factor in relations with Russia, China, Iran, Turkey, or, for example, in the Ukrainian war and the global confrontation encompassing it.
…There are necessary but not sufficient conditions for the development of Armenia-US relations. Not sufficient because in Washington, the perception of Armenia as a component of the Russian security architecture or as a Russian satellite is still quite stable. This perception can only be broken through revolutionary changes.
Serious decisions in Washington are made not by a few individuals, but essentially as a result of consensus among several agencies and several dozen, if not hundreds of individuals. This means that to organize a turnaround in Armenia-US relations, a revolution of thought has to take place. Such a revolution is possible as a result of very specific geopolitical processes and corresponding work and decisive actions on Armenia’s part.
