…Russia’s response fits entirely within the colonizer-colony or master and subject discourse. Russia’s perceptions about the content of international relations and its own role in that content, and especially the role of former Soviet republics, have turned into a militant anachronism. The Russian-Ukrainian war is perhaps also about overcoming this anachronism.
Nevertheless, it should also be noted that Armenia must be able to work with Russia, must be able to continue the conversation and avoid direct confrontations as much as possible. In some places, this will imply conciliatory statements, and in others, political restraint, but it is important to have clearly formulated goals and political will to serve these goals and not deviate from the chosen course.
