Russia’s role in the Artsakh settlement process: where we’ve come and where we’re going

There is a clearly formulated goal in the Kremlin: to push the West out of the Artsakh settlement process and make it either exclusively Russian or at least subject to Russian-Turkish moderation.

The fact that the 44-day war could not have started without certain Russian-Turkish arrangements or at least mutual understanding clearly fits into this perception…

…Russia, based on its own inability or cold calculation to use Armenian interests, is once again using the Armenian Question, in particular the Artsakh issue, in the context of building its relationships and receiving dividends with the states of the region.
