“The withdrawal of EU observers from the border without guarantees is a challenge” — Opinion from Yerevan

Robert Ghevondyan, an expert at the Research Center on Security Policy (RCSP), discussed the uncertainty surrounding the extension of the European Union’s monitoring mission in Armenia in an interview with JAMnews Armenian.

According to the political scientist, in the absence of EU observers, there will be a necessity to create other guarantees to prevent further provocations from Azerbaijan. These guarantees should also be enshrined in the peace agreement and ensure the existence of future mechanisms.
