Armenia has initiated the EU membership process. What’s next?

In an interview with Deutsche Welle, the President of the Research Center on Security Policy, Areg Kochinyan, emphasized the significance of Armenia’s process of joining the EU and discussed the necessity of distancing from the EAEU.

Responding to reactions from Russia, Kochinyan confirmed that Armenia cannot be a member of both the EU and the EAEU simultaneously, despite Armenia’s significant dependence on Russia.

Regarding the restrictions on Armenian products entering the Russian market, the political analyst stated: “Given the existing import limitations from Russia, a sudden halt in trade relations with Armenia seems an unlikely scenario.”
