Turkey’s Policy Towards Armenia is Being Decided in Baku

by RCSP

RCSP President Areg Kochinyan spoke on Aliq Media about recent regional political realities, particularly addressing Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and their interconnectedness.

According to the political scientist, the regulation of relations with Turkey is mainly being decided in Baku, under conditions of high trust and partnership from Turkey’s side. This is also conditioned by the personal relationship between Aliyev and Erdogan and their mutual stable support. According to him, Armenia must reach the point where, thanks to demarcated and delimited borders, any escalation would be recognized as illegitimate.

Referring also to Armenia’s participation in COP29, Kochinyan noted:

“If Armenia participates in the conference at a high-ranking official level, then the latter cannot return empty-handed and will try to negotiate at least on issues regarding prisoners of war or the signing of the already agreed peace treaty.”
