As part of the ongoing initiative by the Yerevan and Baku Press Clubs, Areg Kochinyan, head of the Research Center on Security Policy (RCSP), and Azerbaijani political analyst Farhad Mamedov took part in their latest joint discussion.
The dialogue centered on the implications of the escalating Iran–Israel conflict for the South Caucasus. Among the key issues examined were the potential for a large-scale migration crisis affecting both Armenia and Azerbaijan, the risks of radiological contamination in the region, and the looming threats to energy infrastructure. The analysts also discussed how prolonged hostilities could undermine Armenia’s energy security—especially gas supplies—and jeopardize Azerbaijan’s strategic transit corridors.
